I Have A Big Time Football Crush On The Minnesota Vikings

My favorite football player is Stefon Diggs. I have loved Stefon Diggs since he committed to Maryland, I could not believe how good he was on the Terps, and I was praying the Redskins would draft him, especially when he dropped to day 2. When we took Jameson Crowder when Diggs was on the board I couldn’t believe it. Didn’t help that Crowder went to Duke, but also because I knew Diggs was so, so, so good. And then he went to the Vikes and has been tearing it up since.

Then enter Adam Thielen. You can read his story 100 times and not get bored of it. The no major scholarship offers and going to Minnesota State, not being invited to the combine, making the Vikings practice squad in 2013, and then grinding and grinding until breaking out in 2016 and then tearing it up last season. Now with Kirk Cousins he’s completely unstoppable.

He was the first player to start a season with 5 straight 100 yard games, and now it’s up to 7. The 7 straight games with 100 yards is tied for most consecutive games all time, which he can break next week vs the Saints. Looks like a strong possibility if you ask me.

And then of course, Kirk. People sometimes ask me if I hate Kirk because he left Washington. Uhhhh, no. Not even a little. He gave everything to the Redskins, they played a very dangerous game of chicken with him, and they lost. They bet against Kirk and Kirk took 90 million dollars from Minnesota. Well played. I’ll never hate a guy for getting paid, and especially after the Redskins treated him.

Add in Big Country Kyle Rudolph and it’s one of the most fun offenses I can remember in a long time. Imagine if Dalvin Cook can be good too.

Just all in all, a very likable team. As I get older, I find myself doing 2 things- rooting harder for the Redskins, and rooting for just a bunch of guys throughout the league on different teams. There’s a bunch of players all over that I just like a lot and want to see succeed. Growing up I always rooted hard for Carson Palmer. Love that guy. LaDainian Tomlinson too. I always root for Maryland guys. Another big one is I love watching Todd Gurley fucking pummel over people right now. I have a feeling there will be a lot of Pat Mahomes fans around the world after this season, just a very likable guy and easy to root for.

So shout out to the Vikings, big time football crush on that team. I’ll root for them until they play the Skins in the playoffs, then I will hope Thielen’s legs fall off (but he makes a full recovery).
